Lot Description

1821 Capped Bust Quarter. B-3. Rarity-2. AU-50 (NGC). OH. Deep gunmetal blue and gray toning covers the obverse and reverse and the strike is sharp on Liberty's curls. Examination finds a couple of minor nicks above ED on the rim and at the area opposite, as well as a few thin scratches around the left wing of the eagle. A moderate die crack splits the twelfth star and clashing is noted below Liberty's ear from the reverse shield. Scarce and desirable.
