Lot Description

A wonderful SUPERB GEM survivor from this popular early commemorative type. Only 10,000 were struck, and it is very rare any finer than the current MS67. Satiny mint luster glows all over the surfaces that are adorned with a rich olive-gold, tannish-gold, and amber-orange patina. Sharply struck on both sides, the surfaces and devices are essentially pristine and the eye appeal is great. PCGS 74, NGC 28, CAC 27. The most recent example sold for $1,020. Only 16 are graded higher at PCGS, all but one are MS67+ and the value jumps to about $3,000. Worthy of a great set. Cert. Number 39263891 PCGS # 9258
