- 146.1 grains. An attractive example of the variety and an interesting error coin. Double struck on both sides, showing little separation between strikes on the obverse but more significant spreads on the reverse. The surfaces are even and appealing light brown, glossy and smooth on both sides, though the surfaces are scattered with contact marks. A couple old scratches are seen on the reverse, both within the word PLURIBUS, and a hint of lacquer shows up near the rim above PLUR. The centering and detail are both strong, and the die state is fairly early, with no bulges outside the shield borders. This coin offers enough positive traits to recommend inclusion in any kind of New Jersey collection.
