1724 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny. Martin 4.30-K.1, W-13690. Rarity-2. AU-50 (PCGS). 117.8 grains. The lively chestnut-brown surfaces are mark-free to the unassisted eye though we note a natural planchet flaw on the obverse rim at 4 o'clock, affecting the top of the R in REX. The overall quality of the coin holds up well under low magnification. A pleasing specimen that would illustrate the date and type admirably in a type set of "colonial" issues.
