Lot Description

A borderline Mint State example of this popular KEY date. The 79-CC is the first scarce date in the series, with only 756,000 struck. This AU58 has a beautiful toning that graces the obverse. Dappled multicolored lilac, rose, pale blue, gold, peach, and magenta hues cover fields and devices. The underlying luster makes the colors pop when rotated in a light. The colors rate an 8 on our color scale and this is not a date that often appears with attractive toning. Only the slightest hint of rub on the high points and a few light slide marks on the central obverse. The eye appeal is very pleasing. PCGS 62, NGC 65.
