This is a beautiful Superb Gem, both sides virtually pristine with intense satin luster over mostly brilliant, boldly impressed surfaces. One of the more challenging late date Walking Liberty half dollars to locate in Mint State, the 1943-S is the fourth rarest issue in the "short set" after the 1942-D, 1942-S and 1943-D. At the assigned level of preservation the coin offered here is decidedly rare from a condition standpoint and would do justice to the finest collection.
