This is an exceptional GEM N-6, one of the FINEST examples and from a late die state that has three very clear cuds on the rim below star 13. The surfaces offer a bold, semi-reflective luster that flashes with traces of faded mint red throughout. Sharply struck with crisp, complete definition throughout the design types. VERY RARE in this die state with the cuds, this is the FINEST known of the die state. PCGS 20, NGC 13, CAC 12. There are five in MS65+ BN for all Large Date Newcomb numbers. The most recent example to sell was the ex. Twin Leaf collection coin that was from an earlier, more common die state and sold for nearly $5,000 in its initial appearance in July 2015. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $6,250. This impressive GEM is worthy of a very strong bid.
