DUPLICATES FROM THE BLACKCAT COLLECTION A fabulously toned GEM example of Longacre's "French" Liberty head on the obverse with a large 1/2 DOLLAR within a wreath on the reverse. Struck in copper with a reeded edge, this is a Rarity-5 pattern issue, with 31-75 known in all grades. Housed in a first generation "rattler" holder. Ample original RED coloration blends with a sensationally vivid blue/violet overtone on both sides, imparting a fabulous look. A few ancient lines are seen on the obverse, hidden below the toning and account for the assigned grade, as the eye appeal is that of an even higher grade. PCGS 4, NGC 1. This is as fresh as you can get, the last time a PR65 RB J-240 sold in auction was in Superior's September 2006 auction! The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $4,500 and PCGS has graded just two finer in the designation. Good luck. Cert. Number 7129735 PCGS # 11975
