A simply beautiful SUPERB GEM 49-S Franklin half! Bold cartwheel luster radiates on both the obverse and reverse enhancing the outstanding surface quality. Virtually pristine. A very crisp strike has fully rendered all the details on both sides. A soft, iridescent tone is seen on both sides, deepening slightly at the rims. An exceptionally rare coin in this lofty state of preservation, this coin was obviously lovingly cared for since the moment it came off the dies. PCGS 10, NGC 6. The last non-CAC PCGS coin to sell in auction was in our February 2016 Regency Auction, realizing $6,169.
