- Lot Description
- 162.5 grains. An appealingly distinctive example of this common variety. Both sides are notably off-center to 9 o'clock, with a substantial unstruck area outside of the die edge at the right periphery of both sides. A bit of bounce double striking is seen on the obverse. Somewhat flecked with fissures on the obverse, the reverse shows lustrous gloss across its less flawed medium brown surfaces. A planchet flaw affects UR of PLURIBUS, also visible at the end of the plowhandles. Sharp and free of post-striking defects, this piece offers high grade, good eye appeal, and an interesting insight into the mintage of New Jersey coppers.
