Lot Description

High Promises Collection. Type II / II. Mintage: 900, of which more than 200 were reportedly placed into circulation. While deep, rich greenish cobalt toning blankets the entire surface and tends to mask reflectivity of the underlying fields, it also takes on lovely spearmint and ocean-blue accents throughout. The patina in no way inhibits viewing of the surgically precise sharpness or of the nearly mark-free surface. Slight cabinet friction shows on Liberty's knees and shin while the reverse appears entirely non-abraded. A minute abrasion in the obverse right field near star 3:00 represents the sole trivial impairment. The first year of proof-only Trade dollar production at Philadelphia.
