Lot Description

1722 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny. Martin 3.1-Bb.3, W-12670. Rarity-5. First Type, Harp at Left. EF-45 (PCGS). 109.1 grains. Pleasing chocolate brown surfaces with no distracting surface problems when examined. There is an old cut on Georgius's shoulder but it blends into the surfaces and is easy to overlook. No spots or corrosion distracts the eye. Early die state with the obverse crack thin below the bust and similarly the reverse crack is faint through the 22 and down. The central devices are softly struck, as always for this die pairing.
