Lot 486 1793 S-3 R3- Chain AMERICA PCGS graded F12.Slightly glossy chocolate brown blending to olive brown in protected areas. The surfaces are reasonably smooth with only microscopic roughness in protected areas. No verdigris, just a few notable contact marks including a half dozen old, light scratches in the field behind the portrait, all blended perfectly into the natural toning. The bottom edge of the date is starting to flow into the rim below but all 4 digits are clearly visible and the legends are complete. EDS, Breen state I, before any die clashmarks. A very acceptable example of our famous Chain Cent. Our grade is VG8+, close to VG10.The attribution and Dr. Cadden Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
