1724 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny. Martin 4.51-K.4, W-13690. Rarity-2. AU-50 (PCGS). 123.2 grains. The deep chestnut-brown surfaces reveal no marks of any magnitude to the unaided eye other than some natural flaws, as struck. A tiny natural planchet void is seen near the tip of the effigy's bust on the obverse, and a reverse rim flaw is seen above Hibernia's head, with another tiny flaw at her feet. Still, a charming piece that nicely represents the third and final date in this popular series struck 1722 through 1724.
