1896-S Barber Half Dollar. MS-62 (NGC). This satiny, vibrant BU is also uncommonly smooth in the context of the assigned grade. Sharply struck throughout, and further adorned with iridescent copper-apricot toning. A heavily circulated issue with just 1.1 million coins struck, the 1896-S is an elusive Barber Half in all Mint State grades.
