1787 Vermont Copper. RR-13, Bressett 17-V, W-2255. Rarity-1. BRITANNIA. EF-40. 108.18 grains. Deep golden-tan with varied red and chocolate-brown highlights. Rim clip at bottom of obverse, cud at tip of breast but no sign yet of the crack that forms vertically across the effigy, numerous old toned-over scratches on the effigy's face and neck, no other marks seen by the unaided eye, reverse impressively sharp for the variety, shadow date present with much of BRITANNIA also plainly evident, bold shield details with strong cross features, rim clip manifests itself at the 1 o'clock position on this side. A pleasing coin in spite of its noted surface complications. PCGS# 554.
