- 1800 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. BB-192, B-19. Rarity-2. AMERICAI. VF-35 (PCGS). CAC.
Richly toned with the obverse particularly bold in appearance, this is a well defined Choice VF with plenty of sharper detail remaining in the more protected areas of the design. Uncommonly smooth for a mid grade early dollar, direct lighting angles even call forth faint traces of original luster that further enhance this coin's appeal. The popular AMERICAI variety of the 1800 dollar, so named because of the prominent vertical line in the reverse field after the word AMERICA in the legend. This line is not a die crack but rather a stray die mark that may have been caused by an engraving blunder or a piece of metal coming into contact with the die.
PCGS# 40082. NGC ID: 243E.
Provenance: From the Catherine Bullowa Moore Collection.
