1889-S Redfield Morgan Silver Dollar. MS-65 (NGC). A lustrous and satiny example with thin ribbons of golden-apricot peripheral iridescence framing otherwise brilliant centers. While Q. David Bowers (1993) states that the Redfield Hoard contained several thousand Mint State 1889-S dollars, he also notes that "most...were heavily bagmarked." A refreshing exception, and a noteworthy condition rarity, this sharply struck and attractive Gem will surely catch the eye of discerning collectors.
