Lot Description

Blended golden-tan and olive-brown patina on surfaces that also have some intermingled rose-red, especially in the left obverse field. Generally well centered on a smooth, broad flan, denticulation is missing only at upper right obverse and lower reverse, the border in the latter area lightly engaging the digits in the date. Central striking detail is soft with original planchet texture remaining, but otherwise we note impressively bold definition in a lightly circulated example of this type. Microscopically rough in a few areas, to no detriment, this is a smooth-looking coin in hand that nicely represents this popular RR number.
