Ex Dr. Tom Sears  An 1821 with lovely peripheral toning.  The few signs of contact suggest a day or two in circulation, nothing more.  Cartwheel luster is unimpaired.  The coin is perfectly centered with all devices decently struck.  From Tom Sears’ Registry Set, offered in MB 51, lot 41 where it brought $1,162.  Estimate: $1,600 to $2,000
