Lot 146 1828 C-2 R1 12-Star Obverse NGC graded MS62 Brown.Frosty medium steel brown and chocolate with tiny peeps of very faded mint red on the reverse. The luster is a bit subdued by a thin layer of natural oxidation, but there is no friction on the highest points of the devices. The only notable mark is a small puff of darker bluish olive toning on the 2 in the date. LDS, Manley state 3.0. The die lines at the top of the I in UNITED are gone. Another nice example of this popular variety. Our grade is MS60.The attribution is noted on the NGC label. Estimate Value $1,000 - UP Ex Bowers & Merena 3/23/2007-The Green Tree Collection.
