- Lot Description
- One of the absolute FINEST 1943 Mercury dimes that survives; indeed, just a single MS68+ FB is graded finer. Bold, satiny luster blooms on both sides. The reverse likely sat up against the end of a bank roll or old collector folder, as it is richly toned with a coppery-olive toning. Hints of iridescence are also dusted over the obverse accenting the smooth surfaces and sharply struck devices. The eye appeal is wonderful. PCGS 9, NGC 3. The most recent example to sell in auction brought $10,200 in the 2019 FUN auction and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $10,500. UNIQUE finer, this SUPERB GEM will find itself at home in any top ranking Registry Set of Mercury dimes, and presents a VERY RARE opportunity for your to upgrade your set. Good luck! Cert.
