Lot Description

This is a vividly toned and highly attractive Gem Mint State Barber half dollar irrespective of date or issuing mint. The obverse is dressed in swaths of charcoal-blue and reddish-apricot, while the reverse exhibits a target-like distribution of steel-mauve, salmon-pink and olive-gold iridescence. Both sides are uniformly sharp in strike with strong satin luster. A conditionally rare Philadelphia Mint issue in the challenging Barber half dollar series and, in fact, among the finest certified by PCGS.
