1883 Shield Nickel. FS-311. Repunched Date. MS-66 (NGC). Exceptional quality and eye appeal for this bold RPD variety, attributable by the base of a secondary 1 between the primary digits 18 in the date. Satin to semi-reflective surfaces are further enhanced by wisps of iridescent champagne-apricot toning. Fully struck, expertly preserved and a delight to behold, there is much to recommend this coin to advanced Shield nickel variety enthusiasts. Provenance: From the Q. David Bowers Collection.
