1852 N-17 R1 Repunched 1 PCGS graded MS64 Red & Brown.Choice lustrous mint red mellowing to steel brown with at least half the obverse and 30% of the reverse showing mellowed mint color. A beautiful cent, sharply struck and nearly flawless. A spot of dark toning nestled between the top of the 5 and the curl above and a pair of very tiny rim nicks at star 5 are the only notable marks. M-LDS, die state b late. The repunching under the base of the 1 is nearly gone, only a faint trace of a dash under the left end of the base remains visible. Our grade is MS63,tied for CC#9 in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 1 finer in 66.
