Lot Description

164.7 grains. A lovely example of this popular hoard variety, a perfect way to obtain a UNITED STATES reverse in choice condition for your collection. Lustrous and frosty even dark chocolate brown with exceptional eye appeal for the assigned grade. The centering is near ideal and the sharpness is excellent on both sides, though some trivial softness in the upper reverse leaves visible some pre-striking planchet marks, which may have resulted in the grade as assigned. The extraordinary clashmarks this variety is known for are visible on both sides, and a light crack is seen at the reverse periphery coming from the rim near 7 o'clock. A really handsome example, with no significant planchet flaws, flecking, or other problems so often seen on this issue.
