Wisps of iridescent golden-apricot toning drift across both sides, finding greatest expression at the peripheries. Both sides are sharply struck and frosty with just a few minor obverse handling marks precluding a higher Mint State rating. The Reeded Edge Capped Bust half dollars of 1836 to 1839 are among the more conditionally challenging types in the classic U.S. coinage series. This obviously important, Select Uncirculated example of the distinct HALF DOL reverse variety is seemingly earmarked for inclusion in a high grade type set.
