Lot Description: We have LOVED this SUPERB GEM from the moment we laid eyes on it! IT is an AMAZING Matte Proof cent! Tied for the second FINEST graded in the RB designation, this coin SCREAMS SUPERB GEM! WOW, its quality is off the charts and absolutely amazing. Photos do this monster no justice, and you really need to look at it in hand to really appreciate its awe inspiring eye appeal, color, and luster. First off, this coin is essentially full RED! We have a feeling (no guarantees) one day we might see this in a RED holder. The surfaces are satiny and gleaming with a fiery brilliance. The smooth fields and sharply struck devices give this incredible quality SUPERB GEM an awe inspiring look. Only 1050 Proofs were struck. PCGS 4, NGC 3, CAC 2. This coin sold in our October 2021 Regency Auction for $23,500 and before that, one sold for $24,000 in November 2020. The current Collectors Universe value is $27,500. There is a single PR67+ RB graded higher, a coin that has not sold in auction and is valued at $43,500. This is an amazing coin, one that will bring a very strong bid.
