Lot Description

PCGS has certified only two circulation strike 1950 quarters in MS-68, and none finer. One of these realized $11,400 in Heritage's May 2024 CSNS Signature Auction. This is the other - an enchanting Ultra Gem with halos of peripheral toning in rose-russet, powder blue and champagne-pink adorning the obverse. The reverse exhibits much lighter pinkish-gold toning around the periphery, the centers on both sides brilliant. Intensely lustrous and silky smooth in appearance throughout, the finest Washington quarter set will be enhanced by the inclusion of this exceptional coin.
