1838 Modified Matron Head Cent. N-2. Rarity-1. MS-64 BN (NGC). CAC. Softly patinated in an autumn-brown hues, this near-Gem also offers smooth-looking surfaces that are free of distracting abrasions. An otherwise bold strike wanes in the peripheral areas on each side -- a feature that in no way inhibits the coin's eye appeal. Provenance: From the Birdwatcher Type Set, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit The Nature Conservancy.
