1886 Gold Dollar. Proof-64 (NGC). CAC. Extremely popular for proof gold type purposes, the 1886 is one of the more frequently encountered issues from the later Gold Dollar series. Shimmering with a mostly brilliant finish from the dies, the central devices exhibit some mint frost that provides a modest cameo "look" to the reverse. Fully struck throughout, with a bit of pale hazy tinting to otherwise yellow-gold surfaces. There are only a few wispy hairlines scattered about.
