Lot Description

Mintage: 21,000. 9 graded MS-66+, 45 higher at PCGS. In a popular 19th century series, the mintage would qualify any 1880 as a great key. The details offered here are absolutely superb where permitted by the dies, such that each strand of hair bears out full delineation. The bottom of the wreath is not present, but that is because it was polished off the die, a common anomaly for later emissions.
