1848 Braided Hair Cent. N-14. Rarity-4-. MS-65 BN (NGC). CAC. Satiny and tight antique copper-brown surfaces with plenty of good gloss. Sharply defined over the focal features with broad, crisp borders. An extremely shallow planchet clip (as made) is evident at 6:30 on the obverse. Bob Grellman (2021) reports seeing only eight Mint State examples of this scarce Newcomb number. While the present example shows no mint red, it is an exceptionally attractive Braided Hair cent at the MS-65 BN grade level. Sure to catch the eye of discerning copper enthusiasts. PCGS# 1883.
