An intriguing modern variety that is extremely scarce and rarely offered. The reverse die with the AM widely spaced was intended for Proof coinage, but somehow a number of Philadelphia mint coins were struck for circulation using these dies. They are VERY RARE in such a high grade, and PCGS has graded about 1,000 in all grades, however, this MS68 RD is the SOLE FINEST graded at PCGS! Exceptional brilliant RED luster blazes on both sides of this sharply struck uber-GEM. PCGS 1, NGC 0.
