Lot Description

86.0 grains. The reverse is Martin C.2, but the obverse does not match the dies he pairs it with (2.6, 2.7, 2.35). Both sides are attractively preserved with hints of rose and olive-gray to dominant medium golden-brown patina. Nicely centered for the type, although the upper right obverse lettering and the C in COLONIES are engaged by the borders. Light surface scale and a trace of pitting are noted for accuracy, but no significant marks are seen, and the in hand appearance is pleasingly smooth.
