1895-O Barber Half Dollar. MS-64 (NGC). Pale lilac-gold as no more than a whisper over the satiny silver surfaces of the obverse and reverse. The strike is reasonably sharp and this is one of the tougher dates to find at all, and especially so nearing the Gem level. A few shallow contact marks on the truncation are noted for accuracy. Sharp in terms of definition on the arrows and claws, with a touch of softness on a few of the eagle's neck feathers. Strong quality on a tough New Orleans issue, all that a numismatist could hope to find. NGC Census: 19; 9 finer (MS-67 finest) within the designation. PCGS# 6472.
