Losbeschreibung: 1785 Nova Constellatio Copper. Crosby 3-B, W-1895. Rarity-2. CONSTELLATIO, Pointed Rays. AU-53 BN (NGC). A notably attractive and high quality example with several characteristics elevating it above the average AU level specimen. The color is an ideal tan-brown, the surfaces original and without any roughness, and the strike is bold, well-centered, and from a desirable earlier die state prior to the deterioration and muddling of the obverse detail. A glass brings to light several tiny nicks and scratches on the obverse, mostly concentrated around the last O in CONSTELLATIO and rays below.
