Lot Description

An incredible and high end SUPERB GEM, tied for FINEST GRADED in any designation. The 1914 Barber Proofs have the distinction of having the lowest mintage in the series, with only 380 struck. Intense, watery reflective surfaces gleam boldly on both sides. Flawless surfaces are imbued with a gentle dusting of iridescent toning indicating long term storage in tissue or some other paper. Pale gold, iridescent olive, tan, russet, and soft lilac-pewter accents really burst off the brilliant surfaces when a light hits them. The eye appeal is excellent in every way. Very high end quality and a WOW coin for sure! Only 380 Proofs were struck. PCGS 16, NGC 13, CAC 11. There are 5 graded PR67+ and NONE FINER. Prior to this coin selling, we sold the Gardner/Young-Dakota coin for $13,513 in October 2019. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $10,500 and we suspect this coin could bring more.
