Lot Description

1802 Draped Bust Half Dollar. O-101, the only known dies. Rarity-3. EF-40 (NGC). This is a key issue, and one of the first two dates in the Heraldic Eagle Reverse series, with a low mintage of just 29,890 coins. This piece displays multiple layers of variegated toning, in hues ranging from salmon-gray to lilac and creamy-tan. A lightly abraded example with ample design details still evident.
