Lot Description
THE BOYLSTON COLLECTION TIED FOR THIRD FINEST GRADED! Booming mint bloom is accentuated by lovely toning intermingled in shades of soft gray, rose and ice blue. A couple of light ticks are noted on the left shoulder of Miss Liberty and one on her chin under strong magnification. WB-10 Doubled Date. Rarity-3. Clearly seen with the naked eye are the undertypes of the 18. Also doubled are the 4 on crossbar and the 0 is repunched south. Struck with the Small Letters reverse from 1839. PCGS 8, NGC 2. Just 6 coins grade finer. 5 are PCGS MS-66 and one grades PCGS MS-66+. PCGS Price Guide is $8,500. This exact piece last sold at auction in January 2015 (a weaker market) where it fetched $8,813. An outstanding opportunity for both the date and variety specialist. So few GEM pieces remain, that we expect a dogfight when this coin comes up for sale! Good luck! Cert. Number 25239676 PCGS # 6234.00
