- Lot Description
- 1652 Oak Tree Shilling. Noe-7, Salmon 5-D, W-480. Rarity-6. IN at Bottom. VF-25 (PCGS).
67.4 grains. A relatively early die state of the Noe-7 variety and desirable as such for its well defined tree, prior to die failure that obliterates much of that detail. This attractive mid-grade representative has glossy deep tan-gray surfaces with steel overtones. Remarkably good centering and fullness of detail for the variety with only the tops of a few letters off the planchet. A desirable piece for the specialist and also suitable as an Oak Tree type coin.
Provenance: From the Norman G. Peters Collection.
PCGS# 45362. NGC ID: 2ARL.
