1880 Morgan Silver Dollar. Proof-65 (NGC). Lightly toned in pale golden-gray, this handsome specimen exhibits enough field to device contrast on the obverse to support a Cameo designation. The reverse is universally brilliant in finish, however, both sides with razor sharp striking detail throughout the design. This third-year Proof Morgan dollar issue has a mintage of 1,355 coins, survivors of which are seldom encountered any finer than Proof-64.
