Lot Description

Blended pinkish-honey color and softly frosted luster are seen on surfaces that display a sharp strike. Some spotting on the reverse is noted below the eagle's left wing. The 1854 is a surprisingly scarce issue with this kind of quality and originality despite its status as a Philadelphia Mint issue with a relatively generous mintage of 160,675 pieces. Sure to catch the attention of astute gold collectors.
