1773 Virginia Halfpenny. Newman 4-P, W-1475. 7 Harp Strings, No Period After GEORGIVS. MS-64 BN (PCGS). 119.3 grains. Deep rose-brown surfaces glow with soft underlying luster. The strike is fairly crisp throughout and no marks or blemishes are worthy of reporting here. Struck from a clashed reverse die with portions of the obverse design plainly seen at the left side near the reverse rim. Choice for the grade.
