1869 Pattern Indian Cent. Judd-669, Pollock-745. Rarity-7+ (As a Type)--Double Struck--Second Strike 95% Off Center--MS-60 (PCGS). 58.2 grains. Regular die trials striking of the 1869 Indian Cent. Struck in copper nickel (81% copper, 18% nickel, 1% iron) with a plain edge.<br />     A rare die trials striking as a type, this piece has the added distinction of being a major Mint error. The second off center strike is at 12 o'clock and has imparted a second complete date to the obverse of the coin. Isolated softness of detail is attributable to the error, but most features are suitably bold. Even pale-tan color to satin-textured surfaces. Presumed unique as an error!
