Lot Description

Alone among mintmaked issues in the three-cent silver series of 1851 to 1873, the 1851-O has long enjoyed strong demand for advanced type purposes. It is represented here by a lustrous, softly frosted near-Gem Uncirculated coin that also sports delicate antique silver and pale gold patina to both sides. A number of stray carbon flecks are noted, along with a few wispy handling marks, but all are insignificant enough to be easily overlooked during in-hand appreciation.
