Lot Description

The only New Orleans mint $3 struck to the tune of a mere 24,000 pieces. This one was subject to moderate antebellum circulation. We note a few light ticks and lines on the medium gold surfaces, but overall the quality is generally pleasing. PCGS 33, NGC 25. The last one to sell was back in February 2014, realizing $2,115 and the current PCGS value is $2,250. Keep in mind, the most recent XF40 sold in auction for $4,700 in September 2016.
