1799 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. B-5, BB-157. Rarity-2. BB Die State III. AU-58 (NGC). The upper left (facing) edge of the U in UNITED in indented, as is the upper right edge of the 1 in the date, helping to identify this die variety. Attractive autumn-gold toning adorns the lustrous, satiny surfaces, save for areas of chocolate-brown patina along the upper left obverse border, and just to the left of obverse stars 8, 10 and 11. The elegant design motifs are very sharply struck, and surface marks are nearly nonexistent.
