Lot Description

Handsome, richly toned surfaces are bathed in blended pewter and golden-gray, the reverse a bit lighter in appearance than the obverse. Moderately heavy wear has resulted in some loss of border denticulation, but all major design elements are at least discernible, and many are bold for the grade. There is a lengthy, albeit thin scrape at left reverse, but the surfaces are otherwise free of significant blemishes. Middle die state, as usually seen, with a minor obverse crack from the edge to Liberty's nose, extending below her chin.
