1858/7 Flying Eagle Cent. Large Letters. High Leaves (Style of 1857), Type I. Snow-1, FS-301. MS-62 (NGC). Pretty silver-rose patina to the obverse, the reverse with even brighter pinkish-tan. This is a boldly struck and satiny example of the most popular variety in the brief Flying Eagle cent series of 1856 to 1858. Snow Die Stage B with the tip of the eagle's right wing separated due to die polishing and the remnants of the underdigit 7 and the errant digit 1 faint, yet still discernible with the aid of a loupe. Die Stage A and B examples of this overdate are typically collected as part of complete date sets of Flying Eagle cents. PCGS# 37383. NGC ID: 2TYC.
